Letter Writing Competition for the youth organized by Nieuwe Post Nederlandse Antillen

Who can take part this competition?
Antillean youngsters between the ages of 12 and 15 can participate in the Letter Writing Competition organized by Nieuwe Post NA N.A.

What are the rules to participate?
They are very simple.

Write a letter to someone to explain why it is important to talk about AIDS and to protect yourself against the disease.”

  1. The compositions submitted must be recent, unpublished letters.
  2. Compositions must be presented in the form of a letter ("Dear ……..", include the address of  the Addressee )
  3. Your name, birth date, address, telephone and name of your school is a must. The letter should end with a signature.
  4. Entries must strictly respect the set theme.
  5. The letter should be mailed (by using a stamp) at the post office to the attention of “Dioleshka Kuwas, Public Relations, officer Nieuwe Post Nederlandse Antillen, Schottegatweg Noord 32, Curacao N.A.”
  6. Entries must adhere strictly to the number of words permitted in the original language (between 500 and 800= one A4).
  7. The letters from each island (Curacao, Bonaire & WWI) must be mailed by March 15, 2010.

 

What are the prizes?
By participating you have the chance to win attractive prizes.
The winner of this national competition receives a Laptop and will be also representing the Netherlands Antilles in the 39th International Letter Writing Competition organized by Universal Postal Union (UPU).

About the International Letter Writing competition:
This is the 39th year that Universal Postal Union (UPU) is organizing this annual Letter Writing Competition for young people. All member countries of UPU are invited to participate. The main goal of this competition is to make young people aware of the important role postal services play in our societies, as well as fostering an appreciation of the art of letter writing.

United Nations together with World Health Organization chose the letter theme of this year.

This is the first time Nieuwe Post Nederlandse Antillen will be participating in the International Competition. So, don’t miss this opportunity to be the first one to win the first letter writing competition organized by Nieuwe Post Nederlandse Antillen.

 

When will the winner be announced?

The winners will be announced on April 7th, 2010.
