WORLDWIDE DEVELOPMENTS OPENS UNIQUE OPORTUNITIES FOR NIEUWE POST NEDERLANDSE ANTILLEN
Willemstad- Worldwide changes in general but changes on our islands in particular must not be perceived as threats. The future looks promising for Nieuwe Post Nederlandse Antillen N.V. (NPNA) With this in vision NPNA will work on developing a strong foundation for its commercial deployment in 2009, making good use of the technological developments in the world. The new management of NPNA, Mr. Franklin Sluis, is convinced that NPNA can play an important role in the development of our islands as a logistical hub towards other parts of the world. The strengthening of the NPNA goes hand in hand with the company’s continuous quest for improving the service to the community on the islands.
The postal service experienced various stages of development during its existence. The organization became independent in 1998. In 2001 a management and operations agreement was signed with Canadian Post (CPIL.) The government obtained again full ownership of the company last year. These last developments open opportunity to develop and strive towards a new vision for the postal service. Globalization, technological developments, changes in the need of the people creates unique opportunities for the logistical sector.
Our geographical location, our connection to the worldwide postal net and the confidence in our service sector in the Antilles make it possible for us to develop new attractive logistical products and services.
“We are committed to create a solid foundation for the NPNA for the future. We can only get the most out of it if we all pull together and support this effort. This was also our message to the employees of NPNA at the end of last year. It goes without saying that we will continue to strive to better our service while we are working to strengthen our base” the Managing Director of NPNA said.
NPNA according to Mr. Sluis will strive each and every day to be reliable, innovative, a leader, fast and with eye on strategic alliance to develop new and better service.
Everything indicates that NPNA will not have a negative result over 2008, although the definite financial results of 2008 are not yet in. 2009 will have to become a year where the base of the new postal service for 2010 to 2015 will be laid.
