Willemstad - Nieuwe Post Nederlandse Antillen (NPNA) acknowledges the importance of mail traffic for both social and business purposes. The increase of inflation in 2005 and the projected inflation increase in 2006 are of influence on the rates of mail services offered by NPNA. NPNA has chosen to introduce only a minor rate adjustment on selected mail services despite other factors, such as e.g. Transportation costs, which may influence its rates.
The Government approved new rates for selected mail services will be effective as of January 2nd 2006. Some of the rates that have been adapted are:
- Aerogrammes have been increased by 4 cents;
- Lettermail (local) has increased with 3 cents (in lowest weight class up to 20 grams) and with 9 cents (in the highest weight class weight class which is 1-2 kg);
- Postcards - both local and international-the rates have been increased by 4 cents.
Furthermore, NPNA is happy to inform you that it has reduced its rates on several other postal services such as SAL (Surface Air Lifted), Air Parcels and Expresspost (new product) in order to reflect a more competitive rate structure.
The Dutch Antillean Community can be assured that in 2006, NPNA will continue with its quest to introduce new innovative products and services while striving to offer optimal service to the community.
